Gun violence in America has become a losing battle. And despite the over 33,000 deaths a year, no legislative action has been made. We wanted to change the conversation around guns by symbolically removing the one gun that everyone had in their pockets.
Partnering with New Yorkers Against Gun Violence (NYAGV), #DisarmTheiPhone’s mission was to help convince Apple to remove the gun emoji to take a stand for stricter gun accessibility in America. In the end, on the next iPhone update the gun was removed.
